In the towing industry, we often face serious situations, but today, we thought we’d take a breather and share the most unusual towing requests, or situations, encountered at Big Jim’s Towing. Buckle up for a ride through our odd and amusing experiences!

We asked our amazing crew to share their most unusual towing requests, and here’s what they came up with:

Kelle:

“Oh boy, what a loaded question! Since joining the industry, I’ve encountered my fair share of strange requests, and honestly, it’s hard to pick just one. But let me tell you about a truly unique gem: a 1927 Cadillac Phaeton! This beauty was a tour vehicle at Glacier National Park, and here’s the kicker—President Roosevelt himself took a ride in it back in 1934. How cool is that?”

Shawn:

“One of my favorites has to be the time a customer tried to drive his truck off the front of a trailer. Yep, you guessed it—he got himself high-centered on the ball hitch! Talk about a sticky situation!”

Michael:

“Then there was the Subaru with a rear axle that blew out, but wait for it—it had a go-kart strapped to the roof! Now that’s what I call multitasking!”

Ben:

“I’ve had my share of interesting encounters too! Like the time I helped a visually impaired customer to her car. She asked if she could touch my face during the ride, which caught me a bit off guard! She told me she bet her family $100 each that she could convince a dealership to sell her a car—and guess what? They did! When they all paid up, she walked away with $1,500, which is how she paid for her vehicle. Talk about a clever deal!

And then there was another time when a customer called AAA to tow a vehicle. While I was hooking it up, a guy burst out of the house yelling, ‘What the h@#$ are you doing?’ Meanwhile, the customer who called AAA decided to speed off in a separate car, leaving me to navigate what turned out to be an attempted car theft. Just another day on the job?”
